Your IQ Is 140
Your Logical Intelligence is Genius Your Verbal Intelligence is Genius Your Mathematical Intelligence is Genius Your General Knowledge is Genius

(Hat tip: Jack Bennett of Idle Mendacity, a New York City conservative Catholic blogger who has me on his blogroll. In recent entries he mourns the passing of Frank Gorshin and the hi-JACK-ing of the oldies format at WCBS-FM. Thanks for the link, Jack, and I've blogrolled you, too.)

Thanks, Michael! And boy are you smart - I only got a 115!

I got a 120. Maybe I'll take it again when I'm not so pooped. I must not be too smart; I weeded the garden *after* it rained this past week.

But don't the weeds come out easier after a good rain?

W. said:

They do come out easier. But when it rains after a lengthy dry spell like we've experienced, the weeds then take off like kudzu. The ease in which weeds can be removed after a rain is more than negated by their doubling and tripling in size (no exaggeration) and their deeper root systems.

It's smarter to weed before a rain because said plants are smaller and thus easier to keep in control.

(Yipes. The farm boy in me is coming out now.)

I'm sure there's some sort of math formula behind all this, but I'm too pooped to work it out. ;-)

Heh! I remember that when I was in boot camp, they had us re-take the test we were given during the enlistment process. It was after morning PT, after lunch, in a bright, sunny room in bright, sunny San Diego, and I darn near fell asleep. A couple of days later, they hauled me in on suspicion of cheating on the original exam because--just imagine!--there was a "significant difference" between the two scores. While I won't reveal those scores, it was my introduction to the fact that IQ is a very malleable thing--so the question, which may haunt you to the end of your days, is: was that a *good* day for you, or a *bad* day for you? :)

120 Lowest IQ I've ever gotten... :(

I came in at 125. The one that totally stumped me was the question that asked you to pick the number that was NOT a prime number. I swear, they all seemed like prime numbers to me!

How is it that a half trunk of dimes is worth more than a full trunk of nickels?

That test is flawed.

Charlie asks:
How is it that a half trunk of dimes is worth more than a full trunk of nickels?

The Answer:
Dimes are worth twice as much as nickels. If both coins were the same size then dimes would need to fill only half the trunk to be worth as much as a full trunk of nickels. Since dimes are actually smaller than nickels, half the volume filled with dimes would be worth even more.
