Gary Jones meets Borat
Sometime last year, Sacha Baron Cohen, as Borat Sagdiyev, his Kazakh news reporter persona, visited the offices of the Oklahoma Republican Party and spoke to then Oklahoma Republican Party chairman Gary Jones about the art of speechmaking:
I think Gary handled himself with a lot of grace, particularly with the awkward situation that Borat put him in at the end of the clip.
UPDATE 2026/05/25: The original YouTube clip, entitled "Borat (AliG) Learns to Give a Speech," is offline, but a 2015 article on The Lost Ogle has a screen capture, and I was able to figure out that the clip was from Series 3, Episode 2 (a.k.a. Episode 14) of the Ali G Show, which I've now embedded above. The clip ended with Borat prostrating himself at Gary Jones's feet, while Gary was standing, for what seemed like an eternity, until he directed Gary to to tap him on the head.

that was great! what a wonderful exhibit of grace, patience, and tolerance by those people. it actually says a great deal about their character.
during that ten minute silence, a bout of flatulence would have been apropos wouldn't it?
