Leon Rausch Boogie - Fort Worth Weekly

An article in honor of Leon Rausch's 90th birthday party last fall, in which Leon recounts the course of his career: With Johnnie Lee Wills's band in Tulsa, then Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys starting in 1958, the dissolution of the band in 1962 and its reformation under his leadership in 1965, quitting again in 1968, leading the Texas Panthers as the house band at Panther Hall on Ft. Worth's east side, recording "For the Last Time," and then touring with the Original Texas Playboys in the late '70s and '80s. Leon still plays gigs, but we missed having him at the Bob Wills Birthday celebration at Cain's Ballroom last Saturday night.
